Zürich Hbf 3D display 01

This is a 3D display of sorts which is located in the Zürich Main Train station. The display consist of strings of LED balls that can change color. Its a 3D matrix made up of these LED balls. I only saw some cute color patterns but I'm wondering about its potential. Personally I would like to see each Z plane displaying a successive frame from some video.

well, no, since I filmed it :))) and it is just a 3d array of leds, nothing magical about it at all :)

Those are programmed as you can see near the end. I don't know why they gave it such a slow animation, though. They could show some really neat 3D volumetric models displayed in them. They could become the next generation neon lights.
