  • This recording is weak; playing is harsh, pedaling is excessive, there is insufficient balance between the bass and treble clefs. This is an expression of intense, romantic love - as such it should be delicate - yet passionate - with an express attempt to hold the legato sans a ponderous effect; what i am hearing in this recording is just too heavy and distracting from the beautiful theme. May I suggest the Philip Thomson recording. The contrast between his recording and this one is stark.

  • Amazing prelude.. if it was from Rachmaninov it would have already been commented...

    very original final before rachmaninov made is 2nd concerto
