there's always risk of a hazard when walking down a sidewalk, broken glass, a curb, bumps, ruts, other people (kids) and apparently open manholes. that sewer shouldn't have been left unattended, but this was still her fault. driving, crossing the street, and walking while texting are simply dangerous.
she should've known better. i hope they can't press charges and i hope her phone got fried.
