Peter Hakim, a part-time professional bowler, turned his favorite lanes and hometown crowd to his advantage to win the $125,000 Long Island Open.

He defeated top-seeded Storm DeVincent, 216-206, to win his first Professional Bowlers Association title, a check for $18,000 and a spot in the $250,000 Firestone Tournament of Champions.

  • Can't believe that was me 22 years ago. I was a baby then. I received a letter from a fan stating that my heels might mess up the lanes and that I should choose something more practical for the next show. Storm and I did not endure, but hopefully he is doing well. I'm happily married with three kids, and am enjoying life. Got a kick out of watching this old video for sure.
