KA-BAR Kukri Machete review: Make Your Own Trail

The KA-BAR Model 1249 Kukri Machete provides a lot of capability for a great price. Whether it's clearing a path through undergrowth, de-limbing trees, or other chopping tasks, this will do the job for you. It would be a useful tool to have in a survival situation, making tasks such as shelter construction a lot easier. Even if you don't get into that kind of wilderness environment, you can justify having one to use around home. Forget the pruning shears, this tool makes gardening fun : )

The 11.5"/292mm 1085 steel blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well. In the video I get the weights in ounces wrong, sorry about that.. The correct info is; Knife 21oz/592g. Knife and sheath 26.2oz/744g. Big thanks to gavkoo for bringing this to my attention.

Handle is made from Kraton G, it's well shaped and comfortable to use. The leather/cordura sheath is a pleasant suprise, it is well designed and constructed and is a worthy partner for the blade.

@acrocanthosaurus4 The tang is not exposed at the rear but the lanyard hole tube does go through it as far as I know.
