Lego Mindstorm robot plays connect four

Constructed and programmed by Arthur van Hoff using Lego Mindstorms. It uses a one mind, three motors, two rotational sensors, one optical sensor.

The robot can only play black, because it can only see the red pieces in the board.

The first version was completed in February of 2004. This video was recorded in September 2007.

I've been working on a lego NXT opponent, and a separate coin sorter. That way the battle can continue forever! It is harder than I anticipated.

@bigWazaa It scans only the bottom empty positions to see which one is now filled. It is written using BrickOS so that it can be fast enough to scan while the arm is in motion.

No, it is not fake. It scans the bottom row as it moves. As soon as it detects your coin the scan is terminated.

It is pretty cool bu u have to admit that he is pretty sad to have made one, why didn't he just ask one of his friends to play or if worst comes to worst maybe his family and if somebody replies to this saying "maybe he has no friends" well that's insulting him just as much THE END...
