Again, great job, especially with the solo. I'd be impressed if anyone tried to imitate one of Lifeson's solos, period, because they're so random. But playing one on an acoustic, and you didn't miss a note. Awesome, man.

Thanks musicman70707, Lifeson's solos are random, he says he 'wings' them which is amazing.

I think it was in Neil Peart's book "Traveling Music" where I read that when Lifeson is recording a solo for one of their songs, he'll record several takes in which he is 'winging it,' as you said, and then he'll take the best phrases from each one and splice them all together for the final version. Then he has to go back and learn the finished product so he can play it live. Based on how his solos sound, this didn't surprise me.

That's exactly how I heard he recorded solos. Works well when you hear results.

This is great! Thanks for sharing. I've been playing the guitar for 35 years and I'm right with you on this one. 12 string Alverez, Peavey Tracer, Yamaha D55 are mine. I need a new effects processor and a Les Paul Custom with a Marshall stack. Dan in Oregon, IL.
