this looks great im thinking of buying a camera all i can afford at the moment is second hand fx 1,after seeing this footage im rreally looking forward too using it , but im really scared it will be too complicated for me to use when i get it. how did you get this footage to look so rich ,is it your lens? is it your editing tools? i need to find out so much information befire i buy this dont i? can any one help me?

I paid $1900 for it when I had it, sold it for $1800 not too long ago. You should look at the Panasonic HVX200 or more up to date cams. Fx1 is totally outdated with using tapes (can't shoot full HD resolution) and no XLR Inputs.

why firewire? i never use it, what's it good for? faster transfer, right?

why? because firewire is a constant stream of data, and when you need to capture video in 'real time' the data must be kept constant. using usb (short bursts of data) will not work.
