1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340

This is my dads old car he has had since 1991. He has been working on it a long time and finally finished it earlier this year.

@MrBrombomb Yeah, it gives it that classic mopar sound on start up. Sounds kind of like a "smokers cough" as the starter engages to me. LOL.

small block it is 508 purple shaft right and what type of adjustable rockers are you using thanks

It has Hedman long tube headers. Comp Cam 1.5 roller rockers. "J" heads that have been ported, blended and shaved .50 thousandths. 2.02 - 1.60 stainless valves. It has the 509 camshaft.

It is actually a 360 that has been bored to a 368. instead of the factory 340 it came with.

No, it has one chamber flowmasters and 2 3/4 inch aluminized pipes.

@firehawkbandit93 Yeah, it kind of does sound like a smoker's cough. LOL! I always liked the unique sound of those old gear-reduction starters, which is why I'd never replace one with a modern Chrysler Starter. I eventually hope to get my hands on a 1971-1972 Dodge Dart that I plan on using as a daily driver with either a 225 slant 6 or a 318 V-8 & original starter. I always liked the look of those cars as well.

Ole pops has been patient and done an incredible job!!!! Thats as close to brand new, no better i do beleive, thumbs up and add to favs, nice to see a nice easy cruise video once in awhile, bet he doesnt slam the doors and you best not lean on it haha, mine would take more money than i will ever have to make that nice, anyway GREAT JOB DAD:-D

thank for all the information . that is a good combanation that why it.s sound so throaty .when you shaved the heads did you have to use thiner head gaskets to keep the valve from hitting the piston and did you deck the block to zero clearance just curious i am asumming it.s a pump gas motor 10 5 to 1 maybe
