Personally, I'd love to see Shreveport spec out Seagraves and use them here. They are TRUE battle tanks and I believe the SFD would be lucky to have them in the fleet.

continues to give the FDNY a product they can trust. Washington DC is another large Seagrave user. The trucks are simply incredible. A lot of the FDNY trucks that were pulled from the outter, middle collaspe zone of the trade center towers, even with major damage, burned out cabs, and crushed, most of the trucks were still running and their pumps where still pumping water to the cross lay lines. That's one hell of a product to withstand that type of abuse and continue running.

FDNY and the LAFD for that matter are plannin on staying with Seagrave. Seagrave came to the FDNY's rescue the day of 9/11 because they lost so many trucks in the collaspe zone. Seagrave has a long tradition with the FDNY, since Mack and ALF both went chapter 11 many years ago. FDNY has tried other companies, but in the end they always come back to Seagrave, because their products meet the needs of the FDNY. They spec them to be tough and last. They are hard on their trucks and Seagrave....

@zaffdoc
I have a question: Can you have emergency lights on your vehicle if your a certified first responder, but not working for the Fire Dept.? Because I'm fixing to become certified and I already have lights in my truck with a siren, and i'm wondering if i can get in trouble if the Shreveport Police Dept. saw it?

@rancheres07 I hate to throw cold water on your desire, but it is a very risky deal to put emergency lights on your car without proper authorization. Not only can you get arrested, but if you have an accident without letting your insurance company know it, you would be in deep crap, because they would not cover you. If you do tell your insurance co. your car insurance would go sky high. See about joining a fire district. I doubt they would let a first responder have lights, but I am not sure.

@zaffdoc Alright, thanks. I think they would have to let first responders have lights and sirens because they are the "first responders" the first ones on the scene. I will let the insurance company know about it, and thanks for letting me know that. But how would I join a fire district?

@rancheres07 Do a google search for caddo parish fire districts and find one close to you. Then visit the station and tell them you would like to volunteer.
