Afghanistan's deputy chief of intelligence has been killed in a suicide bombing in Laghman province. Abdullah Laghmani and at least 22 other people were killed in the attack on a mosque in the town of Mehtar Lam. Another 35 were reported wounded.
Laghmani was the second in command in the National Directorate of Security, the country's CIA-mentored intelligence service. He was also the CIA's most reliable Afghan expert on al-Qaida.
God Bless Abdullah Laghmani. A true Afghan to blood.
