@SteveLV702 Steve, Thanks for the info. I have since been placed with a Service Dog Sally. It was an up hill battle with the Navy. I was told that I was one of the first that received one. Thanks again.

actually on VetDogs website under their FAQ it says you can
You will need to contact your commanding officer and get his approval, but we are training and will place service dogs with active duty personnel.

Oh, yeah severe PTSD here too. I was with 1-8 IN BN in Iraq 2003-2004.

I got the best dog I've ever known because I felt lost when I got home. My shepherd Luna is my best friend. The best part is when I'm feeling lost and scared at night, I know if it's a rational feeling if Luna tells me, and it helps me in a lot less time than the 3 - 4 hours I can sometimes loose control of reality at night.
