Please could someone tell me why people wait this long before seeking medical help? I mean if there is some area of your body that is starting to swell up, for god's sake, go before it's 10x the normal size, or something falls off of you that doesn't normally rot & fall off.

it's an ascites caused due to liver cell failure (hepatic failure) because there is no generalized edema so it is not caused by right side heart failure ...

@Westdrags This is NOT caused by eating McDonalds you fool. This is caused by cirrhosis of the liver mostly, or it can be caused by cancer. It is very tasteless & boorish to make jokes about a serious illness that someone may have, & through no fauldt of their own.

My Mum's in hospital this week under going an abdominal tap to remove 9 litres of ascitic fluid. She's in a hell of a bad way with terminal ovarian and bowel cancer. Keep your crap comments to yourself.
