I first saw Galaxy Force II on a local Computer and Arcade Expo in 1989. I had a Spectrum 48k at the time, so, my mind was blowned away. I got to play for a few minutes, and it was a dream come true. Even tough the Megadrive version is miles away from the original arcade version, it still has the amazing graphics and soundtrack. Enjoy the 1st level, to the sound of "Beyond the Galaxy", one of the finest songs ever from Sega.
I still have my cartridge of this game :)

for all you classic SNL fans out there, part of this game was used as "footage" for the commercial parody which makes action figures and a video game (whose cartridge looks like an early Virgin Games cartridge) based on the movie Philadelphia.

I think had they made this game later in the systems life it would have been a better game. Cosidering how they had games with effects that look like the game was a snes game. Gunstar Heroes for Example.

Amazing, this is another gem I had growing up. I never got very far but I loved it. It reminds me of one of my fav games ever Spaceharrier. The music in this game is cool as well.
