Because it requires a willfull suppression of critical thinking skills to be a born-again, or any sort of devoutly religious person. Devout xtians (and catholics, muslims, hindus, etc) all walk around a state of delusion convinced of fairytales and afterlifes, all uniquely believing that their truth is the real one. It's nice to have purpose and a reason for being here, but to base that on fairy tales is dangerous, as history has proven time and time again. That's why.

Thanks for responding to my question. While I respect your beliefs and find arguing points lead to no where I will say this. Your statement revolves around "Religion"

Being a Christian is about relationship. That's why being "born again" is a process through a relationship with Jesus Christ. No other "religion" offers that because they only offer promises based on human works and achievements instead of letting Christ have His way which he already did on the Cross.

@ubicomp The inverted paradox of JESUS CHRIST is, that EVERYTHING we humans have witnessed in the world can be explained by the bible. AND everything including the doubters are very slowly becoming fact. Watching the world news is no longer scary as it WAS when being a, prideful atheist but SO interesting.

Scripture has to get examined before understanding it. I dare you to try an intense learning study of the HOLY BIBLE & not have your outlook changed. I mean INTENSE. and NOT religion.

@ubicomp Actually.. it really doesn't suppress critical thinking or intelligence to be born-again. To know God is to truly be aware of reality. He has taught me so much about this universe and the role life plays in it. I have discussed many of the things God has brought to my attention with high ranking physicists, and they are astounded at the genius of these findings. Science is simply man's attempt to understand creation. Who better to ask about the mysteries of the universe than God?

@kiabeauty314 I appreciate your benevolent sentiment, but nothing any of you can tell me will convince me that you're all anything but delusional as a result of indoctrination. Consider me "lost" if you must, but please stop thinking any of your weak arguments will sway me. It's a scary, chaotic world out there, and you all look for cozy things to believe to make it less scary, that's it. I just accept that it's chaotic, and that what happens happens, and I'm ok with that. It's how nature works.
