What about some of the investors who took their own lives after Madoff ruined them?
This man didn't steal 4 million USD from a Bank of America, people. He stole more than 50 billion USD, ruining peoples lives.
He should be made an example out of and executed publicly.

sorry to burst your bubble but he did steal most of the money from the Jewish community, so i think his money will not go back to the jews, the only reason i can think of is restitution...and besides other people do PONZI schemes to other than jews....PONZI comes from an italian man

Because were not talking about "millions". Were talking about billions. And were not talking about a single incident.. Were talking about several incidences involving astronomical sums of stolen money. The only parallel I can draw to what is happening today in the US is what happened to the Russian Federation in 1991.

Hi Fred, I agree with you. I do think Madoff will spend maybe three years in the slammer, and in the executive slammer at that. Then he will give back some of the funds in exchange for his freedom. But I cannot disagree with you at all. You are being most realistic. Thanks for the commentary.

busapp, IMO, the only restitution the plantiffs will see will come out of the proceeds I named. I figure that Madoff and his helper/s, who/wherever they may be, hid that money so well that it'll take the DoJ years just to track down which bank its in. If they're really, REALLY lucky, they'll convince Madoff to hand over a portion, in exchange for a year in the slam tops.

Hey Sonya, beside the blatant anti-semitism of your comment, you should know that a lot of Christians, Moslems, and other faiths had people running away with millions. Madoff is just one of many. Why do you focus only on him? How about Merrill Lynch, and the other companies that have taken even more from the Federal Government.

It deosn't matter if Madoff was a lib, what matters is that he's a 50 billion dallor thief that needs to be in prison. End of story.
