Quick Mazinger Z

Music by Ultimate Lazy for Mazinger. Can't sleep and feeling nostalgic. Yknow, when I first got to the States I grew up watching a lot of animation I never saw before. Western 80s cartoons were awesome, but classic anime mecha always dropped my jaw and left me wide-eyed every episode. Hell I was so into it that I even took my metal Optimus Prime toy with me when the original Transformers movie came out in theatres back in the 80s. Robotech, Transformers, Voltron, Mighty Orbots...it was fun seeing giant robots tearing it up.

One of my favorites was Tranzor Z (bka Mazinger Z in Japan). If you've seen The Ultimate 80s Tribute, you'll see him coming out of the water. It was a ridiculous show at times but I rarely got to watch it, which is why I think I clung on to it in my head all these years. I read somewhere that the show actually came out in the 70s but didn't get translated until the 80s. I was so young that it didn't disturb me that one of the villains was a talking decapitated head or that Devileen was literally half of a man and half of a woman who were former lovers and were sewn together, and it didn't confuse me when Aphrodite-A fired her boobs at enemies because they were actually double missiles lol.

Anyways, sometime last year I think is when Japan came out with a remake of Mazinger Z. When I saw the footage of it I felt like I was lying on the floor again in front of a knob-controlled tv with antenna rabbit ears popping out of it and a clickity hand-controlled cable box sitting on top of the set.

For old times sake, ill make a quick Mazinger video with the new version even tho there are probably thousands on here. The song is shorter here but im sure you can find the original out there. I planned on uploading this much earlier but apparently i fell asleep on my chair lolz. Time for some green tea n sushi!

Mazinger Z was created in the early 70s, by a non-wealthy mangaka (Comic Book expert/guru) named Nagai Go. If you watch the series, the oiriginal names are used, as opposed to changing the names, which was the norm, in many of the shows that came straight from Japan. Mr. Seeker... if you want to find the new version of Mazinger... I my best advice , is to look around. And, Mazinkaiser was a new addition to the Z legend, thanks to his appearance in the Super Robot Taisen (SRW).

Mazinger Z is one of my favourite early anime robots. I liked him so much that i bought a Soul of Chogokin figure of them. Thank you for this. it brings me back to my younger years. thanks.

Where can i find the new version of Mazinger, I have the original televised series and vol 1 of Mazingizer and Great Mazinga vs Devilman and it has taken me years and shear dumb luck to find them, how can I get my hands on the new anime?
