I had this game growing up for the genesis and could consistently beat it without dying. My average score was in the high 11 millions. Though I agree it was tough at first until I realized that I needed to memorize the obstacles.

GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!

Though this level was insane and I always had difficulty with it; it had THE best music of the game; better than stage 3 or 4's in my opinion. None of the other levels had a few hundred pillars and stalactites you could easily crash into along with the usual hundreds of enemies shooting. Am I right or wrong?

Never had a problem on this board. You need to use your brakes!

I have this game for PS3 in the sega mega drive ultimate collection.
never passed this level...

OMG the amount of times I hit that wall!! Could never get it just right :-(

Yes....the good old times! I liked this game and Airwolf for NES.

It is a matter of practice and precision, just like Punch Out.

best level in the game easily

i hated that stage with a passion. not to mention Stage 4's pipelines
I've been trying like "F" to pass this stage; the farthest I've gotten was after you defeat that rogue chopper mini-boss!! Levels 1 & 3 were a f___ing cakewalk, compared to this mile-wide-a__ hell of a level!!

Yes, when I was attempting a run of this game without cheats, I could only complete the first level, when it came to this one, I kept crashing into the structures or got shot at. Which points out one of the major problems i have with this game: crap hit detection. All the sprites are basically like squares, so even if you think you've avoided it, just because it's a square sprite means you still hit it.
