Many in the churches are taught that Paul in this passage was saying that he was a hopeless sinner, and that we are, too: that we will always be sinners, and God will just have to forgive us as we live every day in sin against him, because we just can't help it.
Is that really true? Or is it really possible to live a life free from sin? Let's take a look at what Paul was really teaching here...

  • Your teachings sound like oneness pentecostalism. Is this true? In love, brother, water baptism is an outward sign of the work God has already done inside a believer. The Philippian jailer said, Sirs, What must I do to be saved? "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31) The apostles did not ADD water baptism to the Gospel or even repentance from sin as PRE-requisites rather than results.

  • @Enoch2 Neighbor, if you will finish reading the passage you quoted in Acts 16, you will see how that man and his house were saved. Like many denominations, the pentecostals have areas of doctrine that agree with the scripture. I am not a Pentecostal. I am a Christian. The doctrine that I believe and teach is that which is written in the scripture, and that the apostles of Christ preached with all authority, as do I. The Bible declares that baptism in Jesus' name is for the remission of sins.

  • @Enoch2 I have been accused of being "oneness" or "Jesus only"...but I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. If trinitarians think that I am lost because I believe that Jesus Christ is the only true God, then their blood be upon their own heads. We shall all stand before the judgment seat of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no triune god. There is only one God, and he is come in the flesh. His name is Jesus Christ. And through his name we can receive remission of sins!
