Fantastic driving, and the car sounds superb. Shame you had to sell it. Must have had a great time owning it. Thanks for the video.

@aarondurden Just an error. A 260 'box won't bolt up to an S14. There's a CR 260 that was used in early M20 cars, not to be confused with the 265 CR that fits S14/M30.

BMW M registry says the 320is has a dogleg G260 with 1:1 5th. I wasn't aware there was a dogleg version of that trans, I thought it was only the G265. Your ratios don't sound all that short. Can you confirm this?
Love the car man, I can't tell you how many times I've watched this vid. SO many that every time I hear "Holy Wars" I want that S14 sound to be in the song.

Haha! Owning the Nürburgring!

awesome!
With this gear ratio it seems it's never getting to max speed (the straight piece of the ring). Sounds like it's trying but just not getting there. Might be wrong , dont kill me :p Nice driving, you sir.. you know the ring!

@wbi007 There is a long uphill section starting at about 4:50 (I think this is the area you are referring to). Here the 2.0L engine struggles to accelerate through to 4th gear (not enough torque). There is a large gap from 3rd to 4th, you can even hear it begin to slow down after shifting into 4th. A Group A gear box and appropriate final drive would help a lot here. But ultimately you need more power to continue to accelerate in these uphill areas.

I used a 3.64 LSD first and then changed to a 3.46 (that's not a typo). I found the 3.46 to be better for me. The 3.64 had me hitting the limiter about 50ft before the braking zones on a lot of corners. The 3.46 let me stay in the gear a little longer, and helped me avoid the big RPM drop from 3rd to 4th.
Ultimately, the swap to a 3.46 shaved 15 seconds from my time even though I also changed to a smaller tire (from 225 to 215, both Toyo R888).
