I just discovered Vance last night at a Folk Festival out here in Long Island. I cried listening to him perform this piece. It put into words how I felt after my Dad passed away; Like I had to rediscover everything in the world because it would never be as I knew it before. I hurried to the lobby during the intermission and purchaced my cd and had it signed by Mr. Gilbert. It's definitely a new favorite!!

@juenology I agree. The man is one of the most gifted songwriters of our time however under-rated he may be. I saw him open for George Carlin (can you believe that?) here in Jax, Fla about 8 months before he (carlin) died and he was riveting! Truely a musical gem.

I saw him perform this song in November 2009 and I rant out after the performance to buy the cd's before they sold out. Which they did after the show. Beautiful song.
