@Delo9762 First of all, the BANkS are not going to help you. You can write checks from your HELOC.

The fact is the BANKS are keeping Americans poor and feeding themselves on our backs.

Think about this, on a 200,000 mortgage over 30 years on a 5 percent fixed rate, what are you really paying for this house? It is almost double, so who is winning?

If you think this is garbage, you were either too lazy to actually look at it or listened to your banker.

@imobeus1: I went to Chase bank that I had my heloc with and they said that the heloc couldn't be used that way. So I just stopped trying to use it. I tried it and paid someone for the information on how to do it and it has been 4 years after I asked for a refund,that i didnt get and the stupid guy still has the nerve to try to market other garbage to me. I had to tell him to go away. Im just saying be cautious.

That doesnt work in Texas, I already tried it a few years ago with a HELOC.

It makes NO SENSE to take tax deductible mortgage interest payments and convert them to non-deductible bank interest.

If you believe that your home will continue to increase in value, it might be better to have an interest only mortgage so that you can have a consistent Schedule A tax writeoff.

Don't do any strategies like this until you discuss it with a professional financial planner. You may wind up in a worse situations that where you began
