Selena closed the door behind her, love struck. She leaned on the door, sighing. She bit her lips as she replayed the events in her mind.

After she said "I love you back", the look on Nick's face said it all. As they lay on the grass, she knew he was in pure bliss. It was like a weight was lifter off his shoulders—relieved in a way. And his eyes, they sparkled. It was like his eyeballs turned into diamonds, sparkling by the sun's bright lights. She asked if he was going to cry which made her laugh. But he shook his head and said "I'll only cry when you're gone" making Selena blush. He smiled a smile that no words could ever describe. It was a better smile than a kid seeing father come home from a war in Iraq. Pure bliss, that's what could describe Nick. That was it. And Selena marvelled at him. He was the guy she had a crush on practically her whole high school life. And now, now he was in love with her. Now she was his girlfriend. He used to be an unreachable dream but just a moment ago, he whispered those sweet three words into her ear. Things were perfect.
He caressed her cheek and kissed her lips. Soon they were making out on the playground, laying on the grass in each other's arms.

"I know that look" Carrie walked in, interrupting Selena's thoughts.
Selena played innocent. "What look?"
"That vacant yet sparkling look in your eyes, those pinkish cheeks, that heavenly smile." Her mother pointed them all out. Selena hadn't even noticed that she was smiling till she said she was. "You just received the three words."
Selena tried to hide it. But she couldn't deny it. She smiled, biting her lips. "How'd you know?"
Her mother shrugged. "It's the same look I had when your dad told me he loved me."
Selena sighed and rolled her eyes. Her smile and dreamy look was gone. "Way to ruin the moment mom." She made her way to the stairs.
"What? Selena" Carrie chased her. "So, I can't mention your father, ever?"
"No, I just want you to stop talking about him as if he was a real father—a real husband. He left us mom! Why are you still so clung on to him?" Selena said.
Carrie looked guiltily at her daughter. "He's more that what you think he is, sweetie."
Selena scowled. "There you go again! Mom, get over him! I get it, he swooned you and made you fall head over heels for him, that's why you married him and had him. But he's gone mom. He moved on, and so do you."
"Selena, not everything that you think is right is correct." Carrie mumbled.
She shook her head. "Wake up, mom. He's gone." She ran up and banged the door to her room close.
Carrie sighed, giving up. "I know, Stephen, I know. She should know the truth... I just don't know how to tell her."

Taylor closed her locker shut and something immediately caught her eye. She leaned on her locker and smiled. She was proud. "Aww, look at you two. Holding hands and shit."
Nick and Selena stopped in front of her. Selena scowled and Nick tried to hide a laugh.
"Classy, Taylor. Classy." She said.
Taylor shrugged. "That's why you love me."
Selena rolled her eyes.
"Hey, I have a game tomorrow, you guys better watch!" Nick announced.
"Of course!" Selena smiled. "Who against?"
Nick laughed. "Xavier"
"Ahh" Taylor joined in. "So, you vs. Joe. This'll be interesting."
"Uh, I'm more interested in where you're gonna sit, Taylor. Our side or Joe's?" Selena teased.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Taylor asked.
"Oh come on." Nick wrapped his arms around Selena's shoulders. "It's no secret that you and Joe are hitting it off."
"If by 'hitting it off' you mean I hit him in the balls, then yes, we're definitely hitting it off." She said.
"You hit Joe in the balls?" Nick eyes widened. Selena covered her mouth to laugh.
"Not really hit, but more like crush." Taylor made gestures with her hands to illustrate.
Nick sighed, "guess I'll never be an uncle then. Serves him right though. We don't need anymore little Joe's running around."
"Oh, then we're not safe" Taylor crossed her arms over her chest. "I crushed his balls, but his sperms are still alive."
Selena smirked. "How do you know?" Taylor blushed. Nick and Selena laughed. "Glad to know you're still a slut, Tay!"
Taylor decided to play along. "Why, Sel? You interested?"
"Okay!" Nick interrupted. "There's my cue to leave. I'll see you later, babe." He kissed Selena's cheek.
"See yah" she said back and watched Nick walk away. She turned back to Taylor and smiled mischievously.
Taylor shook her head. "I'm not dating Joe."
"I didn't say anything" Selena raised her hands in surrender.
"I know what you're thinking. I'm barely attracted to him either." Taylor started to walk away.
"Barely" Selena echoed. "So there's a chance."
Taylor blushed, but Selena didn't see it. She rolled her eyes and turned back to Selena. "Will you just get to class!"
"Denial, eh?" Selena continued.
"GET YOUR ASS TO ANTIDOTE 101!" Taylor ordered before turning away again.
Selena laughed feeling victorious.
