Tadpoles are Back

Some video of the second generation of tadpoles to grow up in a small garden pond. I estimate that the tadpoles had emerged from their frogspawn less than 48 hours previously.

I initially 'stocked up' the garden pond with tadpoles from a nearby nature reserve in the spring of 2008. These may be the offspring of one or more of those tadpoles that survived to adulthood. (Having said that, some frogs annually migrate into our garden from a neighbour's relatively humongous fish pond!)

I'll keep you(tube) updated on the progress of these little fellows in the coming weeks.
