I don't go anywhere without one of my classic ka bars:) I'm also rebuilding my bug out bag and adding an INCH bag or a I'm Not Coming Home bag for situations that are to dangerous to come back to.

a hand crank-powered flashlight is usefull as well

@jqcyclops You have to also consider the fact that too much chlorine bleach can pose a health hazard. While mathematically, it might not add up, you have to consider not getting poisoned.

if planning a kit in advance, there are a lot of changes that might benefit this kit. to save on fire starter, water purifier, and antiseptic, look up potassium permangenate. not hard to get either. also, a quality full tang fixed blade is far more durable that any folder. there's a bit more, but if you can read this, you have google too!

as far as a survival rifle goes i would use a Marlin Papoose

OK,you said 8 drops of bleach for a 2 liter and 16 for a gallon...4 liters is not a gallon,4 quarts is........which is the correct dosing?

@Coffeemonkey07 if this were a natural disaster your way of thinking would be fine. We're talking about econiomic collapse here, no resuce crews, no rescue camps.

@mrwilocx1988 Your right, but the goal is to be compact and out of sight, easily packed.

@mrwilocx1988 It's just so you are compact and have something for a basic need for survival

@Jamman319 I had one for the video, but forgot to show it, but the steel wool does work very well.
