This is the first of a series of videos I made to send to my brother to help him get started with Sony Vegas. I never really meant to publish these, but people have asked me to put them here so they could see the videos too. It's a very plain and simple intro to Vegas and DVD Architect and most of what you will see is in direct response to questions my brother asked me, which were the basis of this program.

  • hey man i have sony vegas and i did one videos for my sister and the video is 1hour 27 minutes and 30 second well i saved and when i look to burnet it said that the fail was 16 gb and how can i save the same video but that is lower then that

  • When you go to render the video, select the option for Main Concept MPEG 2, and under that, select the option for DVD Architect NTSC (or PAL, if you live in Europe) and either 4x3 or 16x9, depending on the format of your video. Then click on the Custom button and go to the Video tab. To fit an hour and a half on a DVD, you will need to reduce the average bit rate to probably around 4,000,000. Let me know if that helps.

  • i converted the video from FLV to AVI

  • Do you know which audio codec was used when converting from FLV to AVI? You may need to download a program such as Gspot or FourCC that will identify which audio codec is used in the AVI. My guess is that it is not a standard audio format that Vegas can recognize.

  • What if the timeline wont show both the video and audio part of ur clip how do u fix that

  • Maybe your clip doesn't have an audio track? Or the audio track uses a codec that you do not have installed on your computer, or that is not supported in Vegas? What is the format of the clip?
