  • Nice vid of a great little engine. I've just purchased a marine version to install in my little Cape Cod Catboat. It has the "raised hand starter" that Lister put on all their small diesels. Mine was in a lifeboat from a ship. I was really lucky and picked it up for $100.00, almost running condition. Thanks for posting. Kevin in Nova Scotia.

  • @catmantoo53 Thanks for the comments. Be sure to post some videos of your boat when you get her running - I know a lot of guys who will be interested in your Lister installation.

  • Nice little diesel this.

I hope to get one eventually -- just have to wait for one to show up within my range. Like my Petter A1. AKA: Rumble. hehe

    What's the approximate weight?

  • Thanks! According to my handbook, the basic LR1 weighs 101kg - so not significantly more than a Petter A1 which I would guess must be about 90kg.

  • Sounds sweet!

  • @enpeemac. people like to see different engines at shows. anyone who po pooes an engine like this is not worthy of our time.

  • Greatly satisfying sound.

  • 1966 SR1 3.5kw plant here. Thanks for posting, thats a honey of an engine.

  • Great vid- I've just been given one identical to yours except mine's seized (rainwater).Did they vary the power rating on these by changing the speed, as mine's 2.1 bhp @ 1000 rpm ?

  • Sorry,... Should have said the raised-hand starter like Lister puts on their small MARINE diesels.

  • I love diesel engines! ;-)
