Most of all, thanks to TheMiaoKingdom , NiamTxiv and the many other Youtube video posters out there for finding and bringing these videos to youtube to help enrich the Hmong. That's the real key. With enough of these videos, we can analyze their words and compare it with ours. It will help us understand, comprehend and compare the differences and similarities. Which Miao groups are more similar/different in culture, customs and language when compared to our Lao Hmong Group? Know your groupfirst.

I just took my time to listen, stop, note and review. I did this in repetition. If you follow along, you will realize that the translation is not 100% on but I believe it's smwhere between 90-95% accurate. These Hmong words are exactly our words but some of the tones and the context in which they speak has been influenced by the Mandarin language grammar. So, sentences appear to be backwards. Also, they have a little bit of the nozzle Mandarin sound in their voice. I'm no pro.

@niamtxiv Even the dialect they're singing in is most likely not what our ancestors spoke 1,000 years ago.

@paulmvang Thanks so much, Paul. Just a few weeks ago, I asked a Hmong friend from China help me understand the lyrics. He's not Hmong from Yunnan but he helped me as much as he could. Later, I will compare your lyrics with his. Did you do this all by yourself or did you ask someone to help you?

our ways in culture meaning like learn how to play Qeej, Khws Txhaj, Txiv Xaiv, or Tshoob... these are the key to learning our past and most importantly our culture.. Im not saying that you have to learn them and become one but the folk tales in these songs are very in detail on where and what we are. i started learening Qeej, Tshoob, and Txiv Xaiv just 4 years ago and the amount of knowledge i gained from it are priceless, you start to undersrand why we do things we do during funerals weddings

They are in a courting setting..... She's talking about how hot it is and he's offering her an umbrella to hide from the sun. It's sooo Hmong.

and ect... and i just want to add one more thing if your the type that loves your culture but just dont understand it when you start learning these stuff its really deep, nowadays the OG's dont even know that i was born in the united states they think i came from Thailand which is funny but the impact you get when you say "no im was born and raised here" the reaction the OG's give you is priecless and you get high respect from them. just my 2cent on this video.
