  • Data recovery software is really a good thing, MiniTool data recovery software is a good choice for you. It is easy to use and it is efficient.. some of the editions are absolutely FREE!!!!!!!! Any of you need it can have a try.

  • Advanced Hard Drive Data Recovery Video Tutorial /watch?v=l5HupqVdTZY

  • @shostetler lack of understanding and cant be fucked! this stuff is insane the lessons are crazy and can learn a shed load here! i write a tone down and have composed my own book on what to expect etc! and what each part does lol i enjoy it

  • This is just a warning to anyone trying a arm/head replacement:

I had a Samsung 120GB SP1213C that had a head crash, but found a replacement. I had no problem removing the actuator arm from the platter, despite its 3 heads (2 on the top platter, 1 on the bottom). However, opening up the new hard drive, the head arrangement was 1 on top, 2 on the bottom. The manufacture dates were only two months apart! So, it is important that the dates are as close together as possible. Good luck!

  • A clicking noise generally means board or head failure, not motor failure.

  • It is so true what he said about data recovery estimates - that the data is already recovered BEFORE they give you the estimate.

I worked at a stereo repair shop years ago and we would actually fix the unit and then tell the customer exactly how much it would cost. If they declined, then we would break the unit and return it to them in the same, or similar, condition as it came to us.

  • Ugh... well it makes sense on what failed on my WESTERN DIGITAL myBook :(

    Damn logic boards....

  • Uhm at 4:10 the Sci drive, actually counts 10 platters ;) correct me if I am wrong, great vids though.
