The likes of Arle and Amitie are great, but there are some souls (most likely American and European) that have never really heard of them. However, they are familiar with Puyo's gameplay to some extent through these two games: Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche/Kirby's Ghost Trap.

Both of the stages I play are the second stages, which were originally Suketoudara's stage (in normal mode) in the first Puyo Puyo game.

I made this video pretty much for fellow YouTube user GuardianEarth128 and his girlfriend, but I hope everyone else can enjoy them!

GuardianEarth128 sadly closed his channel, but here's Annamae's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/AnnamaeTezuka

  • The only one of these games I played is Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. I don't see a point of getting the others if there is no difference other than the look of it and sound.

    I never knew that Mean Bean Machine was a spinoff of a previous game called Puyo Puyo until about like 4 months ago or so.

    I love the music for the 2 player mode on Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. So intense. Perfect battle music.

  • The 2-player music is great; I won't argue with that. It's also the battle theme music for Satan-sama in Puyo Puyo 1 (though it was also used in Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary).

  • the robot on the first one anonnyed me it to me about 10 trys to beat him

  • You think he's bad?

    Skweel stopped me cold in my tracks for a good, LONG while.

  • I got Puyo Pop for the GBA, and it stuck to me like glue.

    Then, one day, I visited my third cousin's house, and he had a Sonic compilation game for his GameCube, and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was on it.

    When I saw how similar it was to Puyo Pop (I even saw Carbuncle! ...or Has-Bean, in that game), I nearly screamed, and I stormed through the first six levels or so.

    Sorry, rambling... :p

  • It's okay. No problem.

  • I have that Dr Robotnik's Mean bean machine game and the genesis while back. But for Kirby's Avalanche/Kirby's Ghost Trap, I don't have the game and the snes while back.

  • @Idachan Ugh...don't get me started on Skweel. I'm surprised my controller's still intact after throwing it on the floor so many times after losing to that greasy pig.

  • @Idachan skwheel is nothing compared to spike. I almost never beat him on my first try.

  • Hehehee.....^^;
