Decided to try this without warming up one Sunday Morning. Yikes. Good thing I gave up - it wasn't a smart thing to do. I practice about 10 minutes per day (when I am lucky enough to do so), I figure that warm up was cutting into my practice time.
and it was going so nicely. Tough piece to play perfectly. Such big spans. It only takes one screw up. Believe it or not, Maurizio Pollini, who I consider one of the best pianists to play this, actually screwed up in measure 48. As far as I can tell he missed playing the last two arpeggios entirely. He did catch the bass note. The continuity was so excellent that it's hardly noticable...so it's tough for the concert pianists too.
you already had this part down.......you basically just play the beginning again then it leads to the end. So you only have a couple measures left and you have the technique down so it shouldn't take you that long.
How much time did it take you to learn and master this piece?
