FOX: Protester roughed up by police #2, St. Paul, MN, RNC, Sept 4th 2008

2 minute and 8 second FOX video including scenes of a nonviolent protester being pepper sprayed, paint-balled, pushed to the ground, hit with bicycles, briefly targeted with two laser sights (visible in CNN version at 0:13/0:14), and otherwise roughed up by several police officers during the 2008 Republican National Convention on September 4th, 2008, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Just sitting here with baited breath after posting it and waiting for the inevitable comments about how this sister deserved it, from the vocal redneck mentality that governs American politics and discourse these days.

They did this stuff to journalists, legal observers, and residents of the city during the week they turned the capitol of Minnesota into a police state so the Republicans could have a big wank about abortion, Alaskan oil, and the "soccer mom" VP who once voted against equal pay for women...

Reporter Trish Van Pilsum is a true example in the finest traditions in American journalism. Her bravery and integrity are evident by her steadfast commitment to bear witness to the abuses of power upon a peacefully protesting American Citizen exercising what is left of her rights. There is little doubt that her professional career is in jeopardy by her professionalism being in direct conflict with official corporate directives. Two courageous women were revealed to the public in that report.

the police of this once great nation have gone from protecting & serving to a much more militant type of police work... just look at a picture of a cop from 20 years ago or so & then look at a cop today... their all dressed in military style clothing... they all have full automatic assault rifles in their cars... we have the same crime rate as we did in the 80's here in mn & yet their tactics changed... why?
