Charles Brown (September 13, 1922 January 21, 1999), born in Texas City, Charles Brown was an American blues singer and pianist whose soft-toned, slow-paced blues-club style influenced the development of blues performance during the 1940s and 1950s.

  • I played lead guitar for Charles Brown from 1976 to 86, except for 81 to 83 when I was in Hawaii and he was in New York.He was 55 when I met him, and he was a hot Hammond B3 player, and sharp on the bass peddles too. All the piano stuff sounded even better on organ.
