If you've ever seen an episode of You Bet Your Life (The Best Of Groucho in syndication), then you're familiar with his duck (say the secret word...). However, he couldn't use the duck for a few episodes. On those episodes, he used a few different substitutes, such as George in a suit of armor (clip coming eventually), or this wooden cigar store Indian.
Several episodes are available (with and without the duck) at HoughsVideos.50Megs.Com
this very attractive young lady is from Napoli, Italy and was talking about how she was a survivor of the Andria Doria which sank in 1956 and took 46 lives.

Yes. Elsewhere, this clip is ID'd as aired in 1959, but the advertisement which comes immediately before this segment is for a 1957 model De Soto, so it must be late '56 or early '57.
It's clearly a Suez reference (hence Groucho's reference to Egyptians in the audience), but I still can't figure out what feature of the "cigar store Indian" prompted Groucho's Eden comparison? The "war paint"? The dropping from above as if a paratrooper (British troops parachuted into Suez in Nov. '56)?

What was the "Anthony Eden" reference made by Groucho? Was this aired about the time of the Suez crisis? (56/57?)
