The sound of running tap water seemed to be the only curative to Alyse's colicky crying fits.

  • does it work every time?

  • My son does exactly the same...=)

  • This worked on me as a child as well, turns out I had tinnitus, so if I wasn't actively hearing something, I would hear a sharp and head splitting sound that hurts like hell. I still have it and have to use a fan at night to sleep. I've also read that running water best masks the tinnitus sounds.

  • won't it make the baby pee more?

  • WHEN YOU PUT THE FAUCET WATER ON THE BABY STOPS CRYING CUZ ITS SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE BACK IN THE MOTHER'S WOMB, SO IT DOESNT HURT THEM AT ALL. ITS NOT THAT ITS LOUD, BUT RATHER IT SOUNDS SOOTHING TO THE BABY!!

  • @MomTo3Angels2010 it dos not hert hes ears

  • @Wisdom909 it would hurt the baby's ears if something very loud was put in their ears, but not if it were close enough for the baby to hear it. Plus the baby would let them know if it was loud, they would CRY!!! and babies are not as fragile as u think, they used to live inside the mother, think about all the activites it feels through the womb!!!

  • @niggafromniger actually doctors will tell u it is good to let them "cry out" from time to time, as long as it isnt for long periods of time. It helps them learn independence and helps their lungs develope!! READ UP ON IT!!!

  • U guys are acting like shes gonna be DEAF! It's natural for babies! Thats a similar sound they hear in their mothers WOMB! Stop making 3 minute paragraphs. If it hurt the baby, she would have cried. The only way to show a baby is upset or dislikes something is to cry. No. She turned CALM

  • What a beautiful baby. I used to put my fussy baby on top of the dryer when it was running. He loved it.

My mother always swore turning on a vacuum quiets a fussy baby. But I never tried it.
