The poor form of the national soccer team Harambee Stars could be driving away sponsors. Mobile phone services provider Orange revealed that it was considering supporting the national football team financially, but only on condition that the team shines internationally. Orange CEO Mickael Ghossein made the revelations today as he presented a cheque worth 13 million shillings for the upcoming East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup.
Keep politics out of the soccer field.

To add to your point, if they start paying them well then the best of the best will jump in instead of going off to become mediocre proffessionals. Kinda like how music made a turnaround; money and appreciation.

Musonye you rock !!!!! Keep up the good work with CECAFA. I wonder why Kenya, being the largest economy in the region finds it difficult to sponsor sports. Countries like Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania would have sourced the chumas very very fast indeed.

13 Million could have helped tap n recruit young soccer talent in slums and rural areas for a classic 2020 national team! Dressing a loser in fancy jerseys don't make him a winner!
