the first scene is from the movies prologue where a man named yefim crash lands with a hot air balloon.
after the crash, a horse is seen lolling by a pond- a symbol of life.

the second sequence is from the chapter "the raid". the tatars invade vladimir and carnage the people. a horse falls from a step and is then killed by a spear.
to produce this image, the horse was shot in the neck and pushed from the stairs. then shot in the head afterward.

  • @gubbbies I'd rather wish eternal pain on you than have this animal die like that. Dickhead.

  • The amount of suffering this horse goes through before it dies is sickening. How could anyone do this to an entirely innocent being purely for the sake of entertainment? Says a great deal about the human race.

  • @tornadomaster96 obviously neither of us are going to change our opinions and thoughts on this scene, so there's not really much point even trying to persuade me to even think for a second that this is acceptable and a "work of art", goodbye.

  • @ariXwinfield it was in a slaughterhouse and it was going to be shot soon. So they used in the movie. It wasn't in the prime of its life, and it didn''t have any owners to ride it around. Not for the sake of entertainment, but for the sake of an artistic experience, which is very different.

  • @meganwinfield96 you miss the point. This is SUPPOSED to be disturbing. No one is enjoying this scene, or at least they shouldn't if they're sane. And yes, Andrei Rublev is certainly a work of art, not just entertainment where animals get killed

  • @tornadomaster96 horses are killed more humanely in slaughterhouses. This poor creature was not killed humanely. Would you like to die like this? For the sake of entertainment? I didn't think so. Besides it was a stallion, a beautiful animal in the prime of it's life, it wouldn't have been in a slaughterhouse. Not all horses are slaughtered, did you know people keep them as pets and ride them too? Whatever your opinion, you cannot deny that this is outright, horrific, animal abuse.

  • @gubbbies yeah, i guess it is pretty sociopathic. atleast my morals would be more normal than to record a film being killed for entertainment, fucking retard

  • @tornadomaster96 it's not really a work of art? why would you want to watch an innocent animal being killed?! it's wrong. and horses don't generally get killed in slaughter houses, they usually live wild and happy and not used for entertainment. this disgusting. how people can enjoy watching this sort of thing, i will never understand. but hey, that's my opinion.

  • @meganwinfield96 what is the point then? It was going to die anyway. Whether it dies here or there doesn't matter. Ultimately it contributed to an immortal work of art instead of just dying in some slaughterhouse

  • @tornadomaster96 that's not the point.
