Actually fighters like Georges st Pierre and Bas Rutten started their careers training in Kyokushin is extremely technical striking and in my school we have days that we train to the head like Muay Thai I will say you are very right about the "is it that kyokushinkai is not about real fighting any more, just tournaments?" some schools who are tourny crazy get away from what is important real fighting. also K-1 was founded by a Kyokushin Karateka

@guidosp88 MasOyama and his first students fought against the lumpinee's strongest champs in the 60's, and they won.
Nowadays Kyokushin fighters prooved several times their strenght in K.1 against Thai fighters.

lol this is high impact? i respect all martial arts but this is not high impact, watch muay thai or myanmar lethwei or pradal serey, that's are really high impact martial arts

Yes, that is true. There are more high impact arts. However, if one of them kicks you or knees you in your head you will go down just as fast as in lethwei. Why is there always this need to compare martial arts? Enjoy the show , nothing else is really required.
