@Monkeyulize Not taking sides since I like both, but Kill.Switch was actually the first game to use cover-based combat as its main gameplay mechanic back in 2003. CliffyB even credits it as one of the main inspirations for the combat in Gears of War.
The most that Gears really did for the mechanic was convince several other developers to make more third-person games lazily copy that formula.

@Monkeyulize Wow your telling me "I'm bashing a game"? "Makes sense I haven't heard about it, must be a shitty game."

@God670 Wow, bashing the game that invented cover-based combat. You are such a fanboy it's unbelievable, I bet you fap to a picture of this kratos guy

@Monkeyulize God of War has been out before Gears of War and if any game is stupid it's Gears of War.

@God670 Makes sense I haven't heard about it, must be a shitty game if it has to piggyback on gears of war's' acronym.

@shadow45677 ND are great developers, loved Crash & Jak and Daxter but not a fan of Uncharted, hopefully The Last of Us will focus more on being a fun/unique game than a generic B-Moive wannabe, imo. I'm just saying that without SSM we'd have 9 less exclusive IP's & 11 less games to play on the PS3 whereas ND have only made 1 new IP & 3 games in the same amount of time. People don't realise & appreciate how hard SSM work! SSM is constantly overlooked and ND gets all the attention...
