HP Lovecraft's story "The Shunned House" comes to the big screen courtesy of Maelstrom Productions. I was Associate Producer on this short, and am very excited to release the finished film.
This looks like cheese. Watch the movie "DAGON" inspired by the Lovecraft story "The Shadow over Innsmouth". Or even better yet go torrent HP lovecraft audiobooks, they are in the public domain. Free to download.
Not really. It's just that Lovecraft does not fit the hollywood formula. These kind of films always go for the lowest common denominator, and are pretty low-budget to begin with, so they don't really have the money to set it in the early 20th century. It is also worth noting that Lovecraft abhored films, so that might also have something to do with it.
Looks cool Ill see it, I loved the Shunned House, have you ever been to the "real: Shunned House"?

it's odd, isn't it? It's like there's some kind of 'curse' on the writings of Lovecraft - that they never get translated to the screen intact.

there was an I think italien movie called "the shunned house" in the early 2000s. That was a pretty good movie.
