In Port-au-Prince, tents which had been sent as relief for homeless Haitians, were subsequently stolen, leaving some without shelter.

  • looks like there coping quite well over there.

  • I don't think Angela Merkel or Bush, or anyone for that grace is supernaturally less evil than someone who practices vodoo in Haiti, to counter any prejudice and ignorant assertions. In Haiti a democratic popular movement is needed to watch out for the basic needs of the population, the problem is the people who constitute these movements are usually killed by military forces. It happens in Honduras too!

  • Any government wants the masses to remain poor and as ignorant as possible, but when there are successful movements to counter this, there are laws to prevent despotism and fascism. There is no chance this is going to happen, less when Bill Clinton is already begging US big corporations to come to Haiti, when it is already a fact that they will end up working 20 h in a row for some cents per hour, barely able to make a living and lees read something. All this aid will end up in the wrong hands.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not Haitian.

I don't think things can be blamed on a whole population when there are despotic, dictatorial regimes backed up by US military forces. There is no chance Haitians can rule themselves.

Haitians have little experiences and knowledge of the world and you have expressed quite well the reason why, which is not because they are supernaturally evil and ignorant, but falling in a paradox, you admit that it is because of colonialism and neocolonialism.

  • Maybe the days you Haitians star blaming yourselves then Haiti can move forward. Yes colonialism, US & France have some inputs into Haiti's poverty but the fact that the wrong Haitians with little experiences & knowledge of world politics keep on getting into power. Once they get in power they start stealing and in return they keep on blaming the elite & foreigners for their imcompetence. They make sure the masses remain poor & illiterate to more manipulate them.

  • it is called the struggle of the fittest?

    not ok but

if you would heve no or little money

    no house,

    lost almost everything includig family!

and food is given once in 3 days

    well

    ............

    i can understand;

  • they had enough time to sew flags on the cloths and print us flags on the food-- wow

  • and yet the retarded people incharge of distrubting still dont understand the problems of giving out aid and that you just cant leave it around in the hands of the people who cant even afford to keep watch over it,

you need u.n security forces to have the only access and to distribute all through the city insitead in one area. the fact that these tents were stored in this building was rediculous, its like asking for it to be stolen, learn from our mistakes

  • All of the governoments and dare I say the charities that collect billons of dollars donated by the people are coorupt. How is it possible that the haitian people are living this way when there was alot of monies given to help them and they can't even get a bottle of water...

  • how are they gonna help these people if there stealing and stealing food clothing, and other supplies from the people.
