  • Wearing babies in a sling is also a very important part of natural parenting. I've been doing this for seven years through (my third baby is almost two yrs) and we enjoy it! We never even owned a pram...

  • Yes, I had to have an emergency c-section. I wish that I could turn back that time and have had the courage to have a birth at home. But I just reconcile that all is perfect and somehow my daughter and i co-created this experience.

  • great video! I had two unscheduled c-sections because my babies didn't turn (acupuncture and herbs didn't help prior). But I had wonderful experiences in labor. I fully dilated each time with no drama or drugs. 2 1/2 hour labors, got to hospital just in time.

I believe the fact I continued exercise right up till each was born (I run) immensely helped my body know what to do and handle the contractions. I also breastfed both for 13 months, so I made the best of each 'hospital birth' : )

  • Awesome words! Awesome video! You should also watch "The Business of Being Born" it's an awesome documentary about the birthing industry.

  • The media paints a grim picture of birth. Birth is beautiful, and I am so glad I had a homebirth- It is a right of passage for a woman. I was well informed with my VBAC and ignored my doctors advice, hired a beautiful independant midwife, and did it at home. All hail the goodness

  • that might explain why i turned out to be such a fearful person... my first year wasn't very rosy according to my siblings... o_o

  • I had the honor of getting Elana's video while I was pregnant with my last Son. (He's 8 months now) I had a planned homebirth but her video made it so amazing. My husband caught him and it was so peaceful and quick.

My first son was a hospital nightmare with induction.

FYI: My "gentle birthed" son is the wild man! My first son is so calm and gentle...it's kinda funny!

  • Beautiful! May I ask if you homeschool your children/are planning to (maybe a future topic?)?

  • Thank you for sharing your children birth stories.
