  • That Variax sounds amazing...thanks for the lesson. This intro has been confusing me for ages.

  • @3rduncle That's interesting - it doesn't sound roundwound - though back in the day the roundwounds wouldn;t have been as bright as they are now (I don't think). Also the electronics wouldn't have been so 'trebly' either. End of the day - you go with what you think is right I guess. Thanks for dropping by with the info though.

  • @howtoplaybassdotcom FWIW I agree with you. However, I recently saw an interview with Nathan Watts where he says that he used roundwounds.

Really appreciate the work you put in and the explanations - particularly naming the notes rather than just fret numbers. Thanks a lot.

  • @twist3dmet4l, obviously you're the greatest bass player that all of us have had the pleasure of meeting here on YouTube. Ah yes! I do now remember all your instructional videos. You're our hero! What great technique you have at talking out your ass! Do us all a favor and keep your annoying comments to yourself and you keep playing for tips because nobody will hire you as you're just too awesome on bass!!

  • @twist3dmet4l Ok, sorry. But I've been playing this song well over 10 and bass much longer than that, and I think this gentleman did a good job of articulating this to the novice and intermediate players.

Bit harsh man, I'm just saying it really is an annoying run and it's really difficult to learn and took me ages to learn for a function. Unfortunately being a music student I've got quite a lot of equipment to buy rather than buy a HD cam otherwise I'd totally do a vid as it's only fair.

It's my opinion and I'm happy someone is teaching on Youtube as it gives bassists a chance in the world. Maybe you should apologise for being an arsehole.
