Ok. What's purpose for all this or did you just want to mess around? Do you actually use and pay for a Tivo account or is this a way to get updates without subscribing? Why switch between two drives? That being said, I'm looking for a replacement for my DVD/tuner player so I can use my old TV set and still be able to get basic cable channels. Comcrap just said I have to get a digital interface or a Tivo. Still like to use my 100s of DVDs, maybe an ext. PC drive. Thanks for the links and info.

geezus. there's a little speaker thing next to the play button on your player window. Click that. I hit the play button too. That way I can move along at my own pace.
