The nano TiO2 self -cleaning coating in room condition

Super hydrophilicity of nano TiO2 can be applied to create a self- cleaning surface. This clip demonstrates a preparation of self cleaning layer formed in room conditions using high-effective nano TiO2 solution which was developed by us.

This is an ordinary window glass.

Nano TiO2 solution was dropped onto a glass substrate and spread all over the right half of the surface. The other non-coated part plays as a reference

To accelerate the drying process, a hair drier may be used.

After that a nano TiO2 layer is obtained which can be characterized by its transparency and high reflection.

When the glass is cooled down, we spray water all over it. It can be seen that the part of surface coated with nano TiO2 shows an excellent self-cleaning effect in the room light.

The spraying of water is repeated to confirm the effectiveness of the TiO2 coat.

It is worthy to note that our high-effective nano TiO2 solution is water based and can produce functional layers that strongly adherent to many types of surfaces.

And high hydrophilicity is synonymous with the high photocatalytic activity of the material. That means the self cleaning layer effectively degrades chemical and biological pollutants and at the same time generates an oxygen ion for refreshing air

  • @Straightsix76 may i add ,, im not a scientist,, this is what ive concluded on my own speculation based on what i have learned about nano technology as a whole.

  • @Straightsix76 With these nano coatings you see now to enhance or mutate certainitems in the future.

  • @Straightsix76 I beleive these liquid coatings must be maintained. Certain coatings vary on maintnance. The only way to get perminent nano technology within the actual item is to manufacture the molecular structure of that item at atomic scale. You will see this process more and more within every day products become more popular as CNT technology becomes more understood and mastered. I have a feeling there will be some things not able to construct the exact way we want will be infused
