  • 有一点儿难!

  • This instructional book is titled "A Concise Course of Chinese Calligraphy", wih 10 chapters.

Chinese calligraphy has a history of 5000 years. Over time, it is not only used as a method of communication, but has become an artform.

On page 8/9, we see samples of calligraphy in Qin dynasty, where Emperor Qin Shi Huang ordained a standard script, "Chuan Shu". In the later Han dynasty, the "Li Shu" (clerical form) of calligraphy became important, where the horizontal strokes are more prominent.

  • What is underneath the book, and underneath the paper, etc?? Is it a felt pad?? I also wish I understood Chinese as I am sure Mr. Jiang is telling us wonderful things. Greg

  • I understand only a couple of phrases like 中国书法 (Chinese calligraphy) and I think I also heard 艺术 (art). Maybe someone else or you can help to translate. :P
