Pitch was good, tempo was ridiculous. Unacceptably fast!

OK, so English cathedral boy choirs are better and younger - of course they are totally emersed in singing and vocal instruction. If there is a "travesty" here it is not the choir but rather the conductor who is at fault. I still say good job for a choir that is probably relegated to being an "extracurricular activity" by our American educational system.

So? Trebles in English cathedral choirs are between 7 and 13, and sing more tunefully than this.

C'mon everybody, these are high school kids.

Imagine forrest gump scene .... "run choral run...." way too fast... if you guys sing it slowly ... the beauty of each voice will come out ... feel the song movement with your heart ... or all of you guys have a short breath or smoke too much... hehehehe
-
I'll have to second that one, otherwise it was good, but way too fast
-
if that's the case, then they should have chosen a shoter song because beaqti quorum via should be sung slowly....
-
way too fast, Stanford would be turning in his grave!
i like how it feels, i dont know if i would have taken it that fast. wonderful tuning, though!

Each choir at the festival was limited to about 15 minutes (which is even less because of the delay between pieces due to the adjudicators' comments), and although Beati Quorum Via isn't a very long piece, they may have had to shorten it to make time for other pieces as well.
