This was filmed for a Japanese TV special during recording sessions for the 1994 album "Still Dreaming". First, Nippon Crown Records producer Tohru Shinoda is heard giving a brief comment about the album and recording process. Translated: (producer): "Tim's harp guitars are very expressive instruments. We tried to create a recording environment that allows Tim to express his music comfortably and get it on tape. (question): How did the recording turn out? (producer): "It turned out fantastic."
In this footage, Tim plays a prototype of the Tim Donahue Signature Harp Guitar, now in production and available at www.timdonahue.com/harpguitars.html
I recall personally seeing Tim perform a tune called 'What If' when I was 16, back in 1986, on the fretless electric harp guitar. He played with the same passion and energy back then as he does today. I searched for years for his followup "Still Dreaming", finally found it in 2009 and have enjoyed it repeatedly since. Upon awakening very early today, tears of awe & joy flooded my face as I viewed this. Thank you for posting this.
