  • The song is called a stridulation, and it's used to scare off other males and attract the ladies. They also carry around martini glasses and Barry White records.

  • That's not a Cricket; that's a Lacewing

  • Why does this have so many views?

  • sounds like a ringtone lol. also i was always thought that cricket noises were scary, but actually when u hear crickets u know its safe, no predators are in the area. when a predator IS in the area, they stop chirping.

  • @Drummerful07 You are right on the money with this identification. The fact that this 'Oecanthus fultoni' resembles a lacewing, of the order 'Neuroptera' and not 'Orthoptera', goes to show that the 'Tettigoniidae' (katydids/bush-crickets) aren't the only family of crickets that are capable of mimicry... many 'Gryllidae' are capable as well.

  • it's a little bird

  • It must have a loudspeaker in it's bum...no way can such a shrill loud sound come from just it's wings!

  • Most annoying sound EVER!

  • Aah......makes me dreamy whenever I play this........aah

  • @BoneMarimba Barry White....that's what I thought.

  • That's not a Crickett; that's a Lacewing
