Really? The fundamental problem is that there are too few scarce goods and resources and too many people after those resources. How do we allocate those resources in a society? The experience of Eastern Europe shows communist central planning is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Capitalism is by no means perfect - but it distributes resources really well and sets good incentives for people to work hard. You should just tax a moderate amount and use that tax to provide everyone with a min. standard of living.

Exactly - its a great idea if we lived in a world with abundance. But we don't. Not everyone can drive fancy cars, not everyone can live in big houses - there just aren't enough resources to do that.
